In the Heart of the Church: St. Therese and the Missionary Church in the World Today

Drawing from a number of personal experiences - including pilgrimage trips to Lisieux - John explores the life and spirituality of St. Therese, and how we can apply her spiritual method in today's world.

John Flynn is a graduate of UCLA and Boalt Hall, the law school at University of California, Berkeley, and is a partner in the Orange County office of a major Los Angeles-based firm.  He has for the last several years been listed among the “Super Lawyers” in environmental litigation.

John has two grown sons, and has been married for 37 years to his wife, Susanne.  He is a member of St. John Neumann Parish in Irvine, where he teaches both RCIA and Baptism preparation classes.

Shortly after his return to the Church about twenty years ago, after a 24-year hiatus, John’s devotion to St. Therese began slowly and grudgingly. Close as they are, they are still working on their relationship.
